We did a lifestyle shoot with Nicholas and Amanda. Under the hot sun, we were burnt and got bitten by the mosquitoes. Big commando mosquitoes! All of us wanted to jump whenever the mosquitoes zzing.. past us. But the ocuple kept their cool and posed. Nice!

Yih Huei & Anna

Yih Huei and Anna is one couple who truly enjoyed their wedding day (from our experience, this is not common)Nothing could fret them. Everything was perfect and falls into place nicely for them. I can tell you, it is the couple's attitude on the AD that matters. If one takes it easy and not be too bothered about the little things, it will naturally be a perfect wedding.

The Church of St. Theresa was where the wedding took place. We like the church very much, very grand, spacious, long aisle. The couple's family and friends walked down the aisle just before Anna and her Dad. Its a celebration for the entire family!

We ran into some minor problems during the wedding vows even tho Shem and myself had attended the rehearsal 2 days prior. 1st of all, the couple's parents stood up and joined in as witnesses! This came unexpected as this wasn't the case during the rehearsal! The pastor, the couple and the witnesses huddled to form a closed circle which blocked our angles! We had to go up and gently tap Yih Huei's dad's shoulder and request him to take 1 step back so that I can capture the putting-on of the rings.

2ndly, Yih Huei was just too tall for my tripod shot! From my perspective, his shoulder was blocking Anna's face! I couldn't get Anna's expression when Yih Huei was saying his vows! Thank god we had a 3rd cam capturing the couple from the aisle. That together with Shem's camera covering Yih Huei, gave me the confidence to unplug the 30 m audio cable (which I had painstakingly laid all the way from the soundroom) from my camera, and moved up closer to the altar to get a better shot. Will have to note this danger about tall grooms next time. We had to fall back on our onboard mics, wireless mic on Yih Huei, and mp3 ambient recorder (not too bad... 3 audio backups).

Is it the Indonesian practice for the wedding couple to express their gratitute to their parents during a church wedding? Very touching that the couple kneeled down in front of their parents and hugged them.

1st ever wedding videography workshop in SG

After months of deliberation, we are proud to announce that we will be conducting our firstever wedding videography workshop in SG to share our knowledge and experience with other wedding videographers! This may be the first wedding videography workshop in SG!

Having walked the long way from being the occasional freelance weekend videographers to full-time professionals, the past 6 years of wedding videography has equiped us with all the skills to produce wedding cinematography of consistent high standards. We dare to say that no wedding will fail in our hands! Unfortunately, in the same 6 years we also learned that most local wedding couples are getting mass-produced, cheesy wedding videography. Their once-a-lifetime event is often reduced to merely another project folder in the harddisk that is to be churned out by the following week! This does not come as a surprise for the number of dedicated, quality SG wedding videographers are very limited. They can be easily counted with just both hands.

Over the years, we've attended overseas workshops and had seen the likes of internationally acclaimed wedding videographers like Vonweddingfilms and Stillmotion. We've understood their philosophies and requirements to not only be a quality wedding videographer, but to be the best in the industry. This workshop will be a major milestone in our mission to bring the quality of local wedding videography to worldclass standards.

This 2-day workshop is scheduled for 18th-19th Aug 09. Designed for the single videographer who shoots alone, we'll work with the max amount of equipment (e.g. lights, glidecam, tripod, etc) that a lone videographer can carry and use (even in a cramp HDB room in the wee hrs during bridal makeup). During the workshop, we'll bring our participants through the maximum scope of a SG Chinese wedding day, demonstrating how we'll shoot the bridal prep through gatecrashing, to banquet march in, and finally to the banquet farewell. With a pair of REAL bride and groom in gown and suit as models and with ACTUAL location shooting, every participant is expected to try out with hands-on practice on their own cameras. We hope all this knowledge from our workshop will cut short their learning curve and allow them to produce higher quality works.

Joseph & Fiona Wedding

First of all, apologies to the Jie meis who got slight sunburnt on their shoulders and back during the outdoor shoot sessiong at Changi Business Park. Ashley (the photographer) and myself made them stand under the 1130am sun, on what I call, the tele-tubby hilltop, for more than 20 mins!

But wat the heck! Surely they wouldn't mind sacrificing a bit for Fiona... (Fiona told us that her friends felt she and Joseph looked like hollywood movie stars in the video!)


The makeup shall be done in the living room where it is very spacious and lighting is much better. I love to have such control whenever possible!

It did not take long for me to discover that Fiona's features are best captured from the front. Especially when her eyes can really talk. But she was rather tensed in the morning. My usual corny jokes din work. I guess her sense of humour is of a higher-level than what I could offered. Haha!

This gown was hung at the car porch of Fiona's condo block! Yes, I brought it downstairs....

Joseph & Fiona are really appreciative of their guests' attendences. These door gifts were specially prepared by the couple.

Kim Wee & Geraldine Solemnisation

Kim Wee & Geraldine had their solemnisation in a beautiful glass house at Amara Sanctuary Resort. A simple yet solemn ceremony, surrounded by tranquility and serenity.

We like the white wedding setup against natural greenery. The surroundings was quiet and enable the white wedding to exude an elegant charm. Simply lovely!

James & Patricia Wedding

To shoot a wedding well, it will definitely take more than 1 videographer. We find it difficult for the average SG wedding couple to appreciate this because more often than not, the typical SG wedding couple would rather engage 2 photographers, or spend more $ for a higher-end photographer. We believe this is all due to the fact that the current generation of newly weds grew up flipping the wedding photo albums of their parents and their elder sibling/cousins. To them, video is still a novelty, not a necessity.
Patricia was different.

After knowing how wedding videos can be tastefully created, she got us to capture her wedding. We went all out for her at her church wedding. We brought on Shem and Jeremy (for the 1st time we are mentioning the other shooting members of our team!) to cover James and Patricia's church wedding as well. Yes, we never shoot church wedding with just 1 videographer! The number of shots by the single videographer just wouldn't be enough to tell the story beautifully. 3 videographers with 4 cameras was wat we had at The Church of the Holy Family last Sat.

James was sporting enough to do exactly whatever the Jie Meis wanted him to do...

I must say that this one of the best kissing shot I've done in recent times. Decided to go for a tight crop to intensify the scene eventho there was the risk of James and Patricia not falling into my frame appropriately. I had to take the gamble, and I won it beautifully! I've never asked any couple to re-kiss during this take. It takes the mood out of the kiss. We hate retakes. As wedding videography is a non-repeatable event, a professional videographer had better be fast and accurate enough.

Videography aside, it was a pleasure to be part of James' and Patricia's day. They were such an obliging couple to go outside the church with us in the hot afternoon for a 10-min shoot. Shem and myself were sweating all wet.....

Venu & Vimmala Wedding

We were looking forward to Venu and Vimmala's wedding day. Feeling anxious and excited at the same time, as for the 1st time, we were about to shoot a full Singapore traditional Indian wedding!

A really beautiful bride, glowing with radiance and happiness!

It was quite an emotional wedding celebration. Everyone (and we really mean EVERYONE) in the family was so happy for the couple and had helped with the wedding prep in one way or another.

Bliss was "oozing out" of Venu and Vimmala during their solemnization...

We knew that there will be many ceremonial details which we won't understand their significance. Hence we had to do our homework before the big day, so as not to miss out anything. Going even further, we decided to cover the wedding with 3 cameras for the 12-hr ceremonial wedding!

We were under much pressure as we knew the couple has placed so much trust in us to capture their precious wedding moments. Especially when they knew that we had never covered a traditional Indian wedding before. Capture was simple compared to the post-production. Production of the highlights clip took us more than 16 hrs! Thank god their wedding dinner was 2 days later!

The couple really gave us a challenge by requesting us to use an Indian song of their choice for the highlights. In the selection of clips for the highlights, we also took note of their parents' requests.

We finally heaved a sigh of relief when the clip was played during the dinner. It was so well-received by both the couple and the guests that it was requested to be played a second time!

Boy! We never expected that! We were very surprised when the emcee also named us specifically and thanked us for the video. We was so touched when Vim thanked us and said that she had made a right choice in choosing us to capture their moments.

We would also like to thank the couple for their faith in us all this while and gave us the opportunity to experience a full traditional Indian wedding.
